In the hot summer months of July and August, our tours are closed to ensure the safety and well-being of our visitors and staff. We look forward to welcoming you back in the cooler seasons to experience all that our farm has to offer.
We had a wonderful day visiting Moss Mountain Farm despite some heavy rain! The staff was friendly and helpful. Our tour guide, Carrie was engaging and very informative. The gardens were absolutely beautiful and I really did not expect to tour the house which was so beautifully curated! Lunch was delicious and what a treat to have a chat with Allen about hydrangeas! This was a bucket list for me and totally worth the long trip from Virginia! Thanks for a memorable visit!

We had a wonderful time visiting Moss Mountain Farm. The grounds were absolutely beautiful, and we enjoyed learning about a variety of plants during our visit. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and shared many helpful gardening tips. We also toured the house, which was filled with stunning antiques and artwork. The views throughout the property were truly breathtaking. Lunch was delicious and included a fresh chicken salad, followed by the farm’s famous buttermilk pecan pie for dessert. Moss Farm was everything I hoped the experience would be! Beautiful, educational, and very intimate even though it was a toured venue. I grew up watching P. Allen Smith on PBS and now follow him on YouTube. He surprised us with a visit in the morning and was so gracious! Carrie, his right hand person, who gave us the tour was exceptional-loved her wit and charm!!! Highly recommend this experience for anyone that loves gardens and beautiful historical architecture and design. Can’t wait to go and visit again during different seasons!!

The gardens are like English gardens just outstanding. The tour guides were knowledgeable. The home is gorgeous is beautifully decorated with antiques and paintings yet very comfortable and livable. Mr. Smith joined us following our lunch. He took questions from our group. My daughter and I went as a Mother’s Day gift. So glad we saw Moss Mt. it was an truly enjoyable tour.

Yesterday felt like something out of a dream. My husband surprised me with a visit to Moss Mountain Farm, complete with a tour and lunch, and it couldn’t have been a more perfect day. The grounds were absolutely stunning, especially with the wild grasses swaying in the breeze for “No Mow May” (a big win for pollinators!).
