Organize Your Visit

Would you like to visit Allen’s garden home on the Arkansas River with your group? 

Private Group Tours of the Garden Home Retreat at Moss Mountain Farm allow your group of 40 or more to visit Allen’s main residence, guest cottage, vegetable garden and surrounding ornamental gardens with more flexibility and solitude.  Tours can be scheduled for the afternoon or evening hours, and conclude with a lunch or dinner, respectively.  Pricing is set at 40 minimum, see below for options.

We invite you to spend a leisurely afternoon or evening at the Garden Home Retreat enjoying the company of friends and good food in this gorgeous setting.

 
For groups of 39 or fewer guests:
Are you bringing a group less than 40?  Join one of our public, pre-scheduled Lunch Tours, typically on a spring or fall Thursday or Friday.  With this option, each guest may purchase a reservation individually or reservations may be purchased together via our website here or by calling 501-519-5793. 
 
Group organizers always have the option of scheduling a private group tour that includes less than 40 individuals, but our pricing level will have to remain in place for a minimum commitment level for 40.  Please call for details.
 

For groups of 40 or more guests:

We are happy to schedule throughout the year a private Tour and Meal for groups of 40 or more.  Groups over 40 also have the unique opportunity to schedule an evening dinner and tour, which carries the special delight of our golden hour sunset.  Please call our venue manager for reservations:  501-519-5793 or write gardenhome@pallensmith.com to save your important date.

The Tour

We welcome you to see examples of our typical visitation schedule below for both afternoon and evening experiences.  Please note these may be adapted based upon the Farm’s daily requirements or your special requests.

Afternoon Tour

10:00 a.m.  Arrival at Moss Mountain Farm
10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.  Guided tour of the home and terraced garden
12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.   Lunch
1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.  Free time to visit the gift shop, book signing, and photos with P. Allen Smith (if on property)*.   Visit the remaining sites of the farm such as the animals, heritage poultry collection, the hidden rose garden, the ornamental vegetable garden, and more.  Tour ends.
2:00 p.m.  Farm closing, all guests have departed property.  
Cost Per Person: $96.75**

Evening Tour

5:00 p.m.    Arrival at Moss Mountain Farm
5:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.  Drinks and Hors d’oeuvres
5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.  Tour of the house and terraced gardens
7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.  Free time and visit gift shop
7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.  Dinner, book signing, and photos with P. Allen Smith (if on property)*
9:00 p.m.  Tour Departs
Cost Per Person:   $161.25**
 
*Whenever possible, Allen attends private tours.  When he is available, he likes to greet guests, share stories during a meal, sign books, and pose for photos!
 
**These prices reflect weekday rates. Weekend rates are $161.25 per person for afternoon tours and $188.25 per person for evening tours.

 

Visiting from outside of Little Rock?

Guests of P. Allen Smith can receive special rates on top Little Rock hotels. When you sign up to attend one of our events, you will receive information on our special discounts.
 

Travel to Moss Mountain Farm

Parking
Guests to Moss Mountain Farm are welcome to drive and park at the property or organize coach & bus transportation. Our 200+ parking area provides more than enough room for your guests and is conveniently located within a few steps of our climate-controlled restrooms, gift shop, and dining hall.

Coach Travel Instructions
Moss Mountain Farm has built a dedicated drive and guest disembarkment landing for our visiting coaches and buses. This disembarkment area is also conveniently located near our restrooms, gift store, and dining hall. If you are a coach company, travel organizer or bus driver, please contact us for arrival instructions and approval.

Organizing Coach Travel
Moss Mountain Farm has partnered with one of central Arkansas’s premiere coach organizations, known for their safety, customer service, value and environmentally-sensitive footprint. Each driver has been to Moss Mountain previously to ensure the most pleasant guest experience. Transportation options include 20-person shuttles to 56-person luxury coaches with electrical outlets, restrooms, and WIFI connectivity. Contact us to start organizing today!

A Note for Travel Groups and Independent Operators
Moss Mountain Farm is the perfect addition to an Arkansas travel itinerary that may also include Crystal Bridges or the Clinton Presidential Library. We look forward to sharing with your guests the magic of Moss Mountain and assisting with logistical concerns large and small.
