How to Scallop a Hedge

Materials

  • Plywood or masonite board as tall as your existing hedge and wide enough to accommodate the desired curve
  • Skill saw
  • Pencil
  • Hedge pruners

Directions:

  1. Draw a curve based on the height of your existing hedge on a piece of masonite and cut it out. By using masonite you will be able to use it over and over.
  2. Place the template against the hedge and sheer it to fit the template. It’s that simple.
  3. Another great thing about this template is that you can just flip it around and use it on an opposite hedge to create a mirror image.
