Both mint and strawberries are ideal for containers. Mint especially since it can be such a rampant grower in the garden. Clustered containers of the two offer a lush display with the added benefit of edible leaves and berries that are delicious on their own and when paired in a recipe such as this mint strawberry smoothie.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon agave nectar
  • 2 ice cubes
  • 1 tablespoon mint
  • cup strawberries

Instructions

  1. Place all of the ingredients into a blender and puree until smooth.
  2. Use a few mint sprigs for garnish

Creamier Smoothie

  1. For a creamy smoothie add 1/4 cup vanilla yogurt. Two tablespoons mini chocolate chips will make a chocolate dipped strawberry smoothie. Add 1 cup orange juice and half a banana for a fruitier flavor and don't forget spices. Try mixing in a dash of cinnamon or other spice you enjoy.
