Peach Blossom Astilbe

The light pink plume-like blooms of astilbe ‘Peach Blossom’ add a soft color and friendly texture to the garden from late spring through early summer. Because they thrive in moist, humus-rich soil, astilbes make good companions for other plants that love those conditions, such as hosta, spiderwort and ferns.

One summer, I planted a grouping of astilbe ‘Peach Blossom’ in my front garden at the base of one of my favorite old fashioned roses, ‘The Fairy’. Now when the plants are in bloom it appears as if the rose is resting on a cloud of pink feathers.
