Molasses Bran Bread
InstructionsIn a large bowl combine the sugar, salt and molasses. Stir until well blended.
In a separate bowl whisk the baking soda into the buttermilk. Now stir this into the molasses mixture.
Add the flour and beat with an electric mixer until smooth. There will still be some flour lumps, but that is okay.
Fold in the bran cereal and raisins. Stir well.
Pour the batter into an ungreased loaf pan that is about 9 x 5 inches. Bake for one hour in a preheated 350 degree F oven.
Time to prepare: 1 hour, 20 minutes.
